DR. MARGARET REID, PH.D., C. PSYCH

Dr. Reid completed her Clin.Psy.D. doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Birmingham, UK. As part of her training, she obtained basic competencies in clinical areas across the lifespan (e.g. child & family, intellectual disabilities, adults, and older adults) and completed specialist training in addictions. Over the past 10 years, she has completed additional training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy as well as Cognitive Processing Therapy for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder. Dr. Reid worked at CAMH for 17 years where she gained further specialized experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Autism/ Asperger's, or brain injury and their caregivers.
Dr. Reid also worked with Drs. Irving and Vandervoort implementing the Integrated Care Pathway for Depression and Alcohol, offering both individual and group treatment. She is a registered Psychologist in Clinical and Health Psychology for Adults and Older Adults with the College of Psychologists in Ontario.
At Mind Balance, her focus is on the assessment and treatment of generalized and social anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and concurrent disorders. She is also interested in helping individuals better manage workplace or caregiver stresses. Dr. Reid is a trained yoga teacher who started practicing yoga and meditation in 1996. She is a certified MBCT facilitator and is additionally trained in MBSR.
